Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn (born May 12, 1972) is an American actress. She is well-known as the lawyer Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), where she is twice winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She has also starred in NBC's Whitney (2011-2013) and ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004) as well as TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native, was born May 12, 1972. Her mother was the executive assistant for the United States Navy, while her father was an agent with the Naval Investigative Service; her family moved frequently during her childhood, living in Washington, D.C. and Arizona in addition to in Japan. From a young age, she was inspired by her grandfather and grandmother to learn about drawing, painting and architecture. In her pursuit of the visual arts, she developed a passion for acting. She was also introduced to modern theater during her time in college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a degree in Studio Art. While in college, Seehorn was looking to be a theater actor, following the encouragement from her acting coach. She attempted to make her mark by working various other jobs within D.C. theater. However, she never managed to be a part of major local theatre productions, and was forced to work odd jobs in order to survive and make ends meet, she continued to work in the field of film as a teacher filmmaker. In the next few years, she became involved in more TV productions. The most frequent comparisons she was made was to Bea Arthur, whom was described by her as "very funny," "sarcastic, and knowledgeable" women. Many of these roles were deleted after only one or two seasons. Seehorn was cast in Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff series. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler, a lawyer and the love interest of the aforementioned Jimmy McGill/Saul Wellman (Bob Odenkirk).
