Rosamund Pike

Born in London in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actor. She was the only child to a classical violinist mom Caroline (Friend) and an opera singer father Julian Pike. The actress spent her youth traveling around Europe because of the work of her parents. Pike was born in Bristol and went to Badminton School. She then began acting at National Youth Theatre. Pike was just 23 years old when she was cast in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then spotted by an agent and was signed. While her film debut was a big-budget action film, the film subsequent work was mostly in smaller, independent films, including Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she won the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards) as well as Pride & Prejudice (2005), as one of the Bennet daughters. After a brief stint in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006) followed. She returned to film, delivering outstanding performances in three lesser films. She also appeared in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and the sci-fi drama Wrath of the Titans (2012). With Tom Cruise as her female leading character in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action films.
