Thora Birch

 Thora Birch, born March 11 1982, is an American actress. In 1988, she made her debut in a film in the film Purple People Eater. For this performance, she was awarded the Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress under nine years of age". Birch was a child actress who was in films such as All I Want For Christmas (1991), Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). The actress was awarded a Young Artist Award in the category of "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years of Age." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film earned her an BAFTA nomination. In 2001, she played Enid in the critically acclaimed Ghost World (2001), receiving a nomination for the Golden Globe for Best Actress. Birch was also nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Birch also appeared on Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch also played the character of Whisperer Maryand Gamma in the Walking Dead's season 10. Birch is Jack Birch's oldest son, was born in Los Angeles. Birch is of German-Jewish, Scandinavian as well as French-Canadian. [6] Her name, Thora , is derived form the name of Thora, the Norse god of thunder and lightning ("Thor") that would be her name had she were a young boy. Kian Bolt Birch, her younger brother, is her mother. Both are former adult film actors, and were both in Deep Throat. Because of their own experience working in the entertainment business, they were not keen to promote her, but were persuaded by Thora's picture to agents by a babysitter who noticed her imitation of commercials. Birch had her first big breakthrough at the age of four when her babysitter accompanied her to an audition for a Quaker Oats commercial.
