Melanie Jayne Lynskey

Melanie Jayne Lynskey (born 16 May 1977) is a New Zealand actress. She is well-known for her unique, soft-spoken and headstrong roles. She is mostly seen in independent films. Her accolades include an New Zealand Film Award, an Hollywood Film Award and a Sundance Special Jury Award, along with Gotham Award, Golden Nymph Award Critics' Choice Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lynskey made her film debut , playing a teenage murderess , in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994). After her move to the United States, Lynskey built her career as an supporting actor in various small- and big-budget features like Ever After (1998), Detroit Rock City, But... (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000) and Sweet Home Alabama (both 2002) Shattered glass (2003), Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and Away We Go!, Up in the Air!, Leaves of Grass (2009), Win Win (2011) and Seeking a Wallflower (both 2014) Then They Came Together (2014) and Don't look up (2021). Lynskey received a nomination for the Gotham Award as Breakthrough Performer and received critical acclaim for her role as a divorced, depressed woman in The Goodbye I Must be Going (2012). This was an important moment in her professional career. Lynskey's performance as Rose in CBS' sitcom Two and a Half Men (1903-2015) brought her recognition. She starred in Togetherness from 2015 until 2016. In the course of her role, she received nominations for the 2015 Critics' Choice Television Awards for Best Supporting Artistress.
